Operating the GoPal
®
navigation software
To measure information about a specific route, you must reset the travel statistics at the start of
navigation. To do this, activate the
button: all values are reset to 0 and the measurement is re-
started.
Information on the active navigation is available in the footer: the values provided here are the
same as the information in the footer of the map display (see Operation in the map view
) and find
out about:
current maximum speed
current average speed
current distance to destination
current remaining travel time to destination
current calculated time of arrival at destination
Note
The values in the travel statistics are automatically reset to 0 if your naviga-
tion device has received no valid GPS data packet in two hours.
Use the
button to return to the Current route menu.
Skip next intermediate destination
This button is only available when you travel a route with several intermediate destinations. Tap on
the button to exclude the next intermediate destination from navigation. Navigation is correspond-
ingly updated and you will be guided to the following destination: your navigation system will auto-
matically change to the map view for this.
Compass
In compass display, your current position is shown in relation to the four cardinal points, North be-
ing labelled in colour for better orientation. In addition, your current position is stated with longitude
and latitude in degrees, arc minutes and arc seconds. The compass orientation as well as the lon-
gitude and latitude display is continuously updated to enable precise orientation. As a rule, how-
ever, the accuracy of the measurement and the display depend on the quality of the GPS recep-
tion signal: For this reason, the GPS reception quality is also indicated as a value in the HDOP
field. In addition, the number of satellites currently receiving the signal is displayed next to the
symbol.
The information bar in the lower portion of the window shows all of the other information about the
current route (such as speed, distance, calculated travel time etc.).
